Initiatives

The Overseas Cooperative Development Council has created key initiatives that focus on fostering cooperative development in response to income and democracy building and food security issues and needs in developing nations.

• The Cooperative Law and Regulation Initiative’s main goal is to help developing countries create a legal and regulatory environment that enables cooperative businesses to flourish.
• Measurements for Tracking Indicators of Cooperative Success, or METRICS, identifies four essential indicators for success: sound business practices, strong membership participation, the support of cooperative apex organizations and a facilitating economic environment.
